Secretariat of Specialized Council of Social and Cultural Affairs

The Specialized Council of Social and Cultural Affairs was established under the by-law legislated by the Ministry of Science, Research and Technology in 2005-2006. The Council is comprised of the Chancellor of the University, the Vice Chancellor for Social and Cultural Affairs, Director of the Office of Supreme Leadership Institution, Vice Chancellor for Education, Vice Chancellor for Student Affairs, Director of Faculty Members Basij, Director of the Logistics Department of Social and Cultural Affairs, Director of the Department of Social and Cultural Planning, Director of the Office of Faculty Members Seminar, specialized faculty members, Director of Students Basij, and Director of the Secretariat. The Council passes six legislations on average in each session. Legislations vary in subject matter. They are either enacted directly by the Council or by the University's Board of Directors. The number of sessions of the Council will be 111 sessions by the end of the year 2013. All the active cultural institutions at the university need to report to the Council at its discretion. The Council announces its legislations on social and cultural affairs of the University, if necessary. Moreover, policies developed at the Department of Social and Cultural Planning are enacted at the discretion of the Council at the University. Legislating different by-laws such as the Hijab and Chastity By-law, managing each Council of Social and Cultural Affairs at the Faculties, allocating university amphitheaters, appointing cultural advice lecturers, and managing social and cultural planning are among other duties of the Council.
