21 Researchers from Isfahan University Listed Among the Top 2% Most Cited Scientists in the World for 2024

Twenty-one researchers from Isfahan University have been recognized in the global list published by Stanford University as among the top 2% of cited scientists across all fields for the year 2024, based on both short-term and long-term scientific service periods.

Stanford University publishes an annual list of the world’s top 2% researchers based on data from the Scopus citation database and according to citation indices. The evaluation and announcement of the top researchers’ names are based on the number of citations received in their specific fields, with the selection of outstanding researchers based on a composite index that includes six citation metrics (total citations, h-index, h-index based on the number of authors per paper, number of citations to single-author papers, number of citations to first or single-author papers, and number of citations to last author or first author papers).

In the 2024 list, the citation performance of authors is analyzed based on their published research outputs from 1960 to 2023 across 20 subfields and 174 disciplines. Consequently, authors who rank among the top 2% most cited researchers globally are identified.

Notably, in this list, 21 faculty members and researchers from Isfahan University have been recognized as influential researchers in two categories (most influential authors in 2023 and most influential authors throughout their scientific careers) as detailed below.
